Our Donors

Robin Steele, founder of the Robin and David Steele Educational Fund, a donor advised fund they established in 2006. The Steeles also committed to join the 40 Who Make a Difference, and Robin is a member of the Women's Giving Circle of Howard County.Last year, more than 1,200 people gave donations to The Columbia Foundation - to a fund, a specific cause they care about, or to our endowment. This community of givers epitomize “the willing donor” profiled in “Portrait of Philanthropy: The Capacity for Individual Giving in Howard County." Foundation donors speak movingly of following the lead of their parents’ generosity and of their own desire to “give back.”

Our donors give to The Columbia Foundation in many ways:

The reason we're here is to help someone else.

- Named funds
- Legacy gifts
- Annual contributions
- Memorial gifts
- In-kind contributions
- Combined federal campaigns
- Sponsorships

Whatever their type of gift or motivation to give, The Columbia Foundation is grateful for the generosity of each and every one of its donors.

This year, a special thank you goes to our 40 Who Make a Difference - a group of donors that commited at least $10,000 over five years to celebrate The Columbia Foundation's 40 years making a difference in our community.
