Since its inception in 2006, more than 200 Howard County girls have completed the program. The 2012 program will serve 25 girls, and every effort will be made to include girls from all four corners of the county. During last year’s intensive camp experience, participants developed an awards program that recognized Howard County women. They also participated in a confidence course, as well as workshops on self-awareness, building successful relationships, and decision making. Individualized goal-setting with one-on-one advising is also a component of the program. Survey results at the end of the program indicated that the girls gained self-confidence and interpersonal skills as a result of their participation.
The Women's Giving Circle (WGC) is building a community of philanthropists and creating a permanent legacy to address the needs of women and girls in Howard County.
