Columbia, MD - February 2, 2010 - Donors to The Columbia Foundation have established scholarships for Howard County public high school seniors who will attend two- or four-year colleges or universities in fall 2010. Information and applications are available only on the web at www.columbiafoundation.org under General Information and at high school guidance counselor offices. Applicants need to deliver completed application forms to their high school guidance counselor offices before the end of March.

Founded in 1969, the Foundation has awarded over $10 million in grants to Howard County nonprofit organizations delivering human service, arts and cultural, educational and civic programs. Money for the grant programs comes primarily from income generated by the Foundation’s endowment supported by over 250 funds established by Howard County businesses, families and individuals.
